Doeas Abccess Always Hurt

have taken over the Earth

Revised last night for the umpteenth time, They live continues to be a film of great potential, but only succeeded in half.

I know I'm going to touch a sacred cow, so I expect someone to proclaim Shari'a against me.

For me the best part of this film is that I show the video at the bottom of the post. Honestly I did not remember the references to God made man of the movie; references that leave me a bit 'confused. I do not know why but I never thought about Carpenter as a director who could cite religion as an alternative to the mental bondage imposed by alien-consumerist society.

But perhaps this part of the televangelist's sermon by no means the thought of Carpenter, who on other occasions has proved caustic to the Church (I think The Lord of Evil and Vampires, for example).

In fact the rebels who are against the aliens teschiformi are portrayed as the willing fools who do not know exactly where to turn. This is quite realistic, no doubt about it. Probably much of the resistance John Connor.

Apart from that detail the extent to which the film is disappointing in the second part, when John Nada finds himself face to face with alien tyrants exposed (at least in his eyes). Many scenes lack credibility, as well as the final, not bad, but not credible. I think that the relative roughness as the film slips towards the end, however, is mainly due to budget constraints.

Right now a movie like this will accomplish a lot of scenes in bullet-time and who knows what other scenography.

... On second thought I do not know if it would actually be a step or two back!

However among all the films like "They are hiding among us in disguise" is certainly one that I appreciate most.

not reach, or even touched, that masterpiece of Invasion of the Body Snatchers (excellent also remake of 1978). But

They live has perhaps more potential. The Body Snatchers

siegeliani could even be seen, as appropriate, such as improvements of the human being. Optimization of a species defective. Without emotions there would be wars and murders, only a peaceful existence and uniform understanding the perspective of the common good.

For many it is the inhumanity imposed by the Body Snatchers to transform them into monsters ("There hardens the heart day by day ... Only when we have to fight to defend our humanity, we realize what it's worth, as there are dear. "). Now I wonder, however, why so many science fiction fans appreciate the Vulcans, for one thing. Both races, bacelloni and Vulcan, the cancellation of the emotions are their guiding principle.

Aliens Carpenter are the big and slimy pests. The worst of the worst imaginable form teschiforme leeches, which exploit the flaws and human misery for personal use. On the other hand do not give some the idea of being cohesive as the pods of Siegel. They live in extraterrestrials are rather a kind of "multinational" Galaxy with all the typical defects allocated land to the capitalists, but taken to extremes. The only thing they are really agree is the enslavement of mankind through subliminal messages (one day we shall return).

are no aliens, but sentient machines, but it is impossible not to mention the Matrix saga , which certainly drew inspiration from the movie-cult part of Carpenter.

Yet, after a first chapter dark, minimalist and truly memorable, the Wachowski brothers, they get to mess action-philosophical new age, revised in hindsight, has something nice.

no coincidence that I like John a lot more rugged than the messianic Neo Nada.

points of view.
